Legendary St Patrick’s Day celebrations at DUSA have been cancelled last-minute due to ‘unexpected circumstances’.
Staff at DUSA were sent a text message earlier this afternoon announcing that their shifts for tomorrow, 17th March, are cancelled. Unfortunately, this also means that the annual St Patrick’s Day party will no longer go ahead as planned.
Likely this will come at a great disappointment from all who bought tickets, as the party is much loved by students.
Although tickets are still available to buy online on the DUSA website, and an official announcement has not yet been made, it is expected to come later today.
Migrating from the DUSA building a few years ago, the event was to host a club night within the Bonar Hall on campus, but this will not be happening.
Reasons why have not yet been revealed, and the next scheduled event is now to be hosted on the 5th April for Deecon. A sell-out event for 23 years, St Paddy’s streak has now been broken.
